Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) marked its 45th anniversary in a culmination of its efforts over the past years to develop the Omani private sector and make it a key partner in economic and sustainable development.

Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, OCCI Board Chairman said in his opening speech “With the adoption of the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said of the policy of supporting and encouraging the private sector, there was a need for a specific body to take care of the interests of the employers, express their opinions and regulate the relation with the government bodies in order to create an environment conducive to the start of economic development in which the private sector plays a fundamental and effective role.
