Oman likely to be affected by low pressure

Muscat: Weather analysis in the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre has indicated that a trough of low pressure will affect the northern governorates of the Sultanate commencing on Monday 9th to Tuesday 10th March 2020, The Public Authority of Civil Aviation ( PACA ) said on Sunday.

A statement issued online by PACA said: “ The trough of low pressure will be companied with chances of isolated rain occasionally thundershowers accompanied with fresh downdraft wind, and wadis over the governorates of Musandam, North al Batinah , South Al Batinah, Muscat and South al Sharqiyah.”

“ The trough will be associated with strong Northeasterly wind that will increase sea state from moderate to rough with maximum Wave height range between 2 . 0 and 3 . 0 meters along the coastal areas of Musandam and Oman Sea , and also a decrease of air temperature.” The statement added

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation has adviced all to take precaution of wadis, reductions of visibility and to check the sea state before sailing, and follow the latest weather bulletin during the rains.
