Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Manpower has deported more than 200 expat workers during the first week of March for violating the Sultanate’s labour laws.
207 foreign nationals were deported between 1 and 7 March 2020, with a statement from the ministry saying: “The Ministry of Manpower, represented by the Joint Inspection Team in Muscat during the period from 1 March to 7 March 2020, deported 207 violating members of the workforce who were caught during the inspection campaigns to implement the provisions of the Labour Law within the framework of the labour market regulations. The ministry affirms the need to adhere to the law and the ministerial decisions implemented.”
