Muscat: Recognising outstanding performances in the country’s highest league competition, Oman Cricket rewarded four players for their match-winning contributions in the Premier Division games for their respective teams.
Due for the last four months, the awards could not be presented on time due to National team’s international commitments and hectic preparatory engagements.
The players received their awards from Duleep Mendis, Chief Development Officer, Oman Cricket, in the presence of Iqbal Ariwala, Chief Administration Officer, Oman Cricket.
Distributing cash awards as part of the Player of the Month programme, Oman Cricket rewarded top all-rounder Muhammed Nadeem of Assarain for excellence on the field of play with bat and ball for the month of September 2019.
Leg-spinner Samay Shrivastava of Muscat CT won the prize for the months of October and November after a string of impressive performances for his team.
Passage to India’s fast bowler Ahmed Fayyaz Butt and all-rounder Anirudha Chore of Muscat CT were declared joint winners for December and January.
Oman Cricket combined the monthly awards since there were fewer matches in these four months due to Oman’s international commitments at home and abroad.
