Oman weather: Clouds and dust to cover northern parts of Sultanate

Muscat: Satellite imagery indicates the flow of clouds over the northern parts of the Sultanate in conjunction with the flow of dust gradually extending to most of the governorates of the Sultanate with a possible continuation for the next two days, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) said.

A statement issued by PACA said, "Indicators of an active western to northwest wind starting from today evening until Friday leading to a sea wave height from average to rough, with a height ranging between (2.5-3.0) meters on the coasts of Musandam Governorate and the coasts of the Oman Sea.”

An official from PACA told Times of Oman, "Chances of rain are minimal during the flow of clouds through the northern governorates of the Sultanate and waves of air depressions will follow the Sultanate.”

An official said, "There will be cloud cover on the northern governorates, including the Governorate of Muscat, with dust coming from two sides, one of which is wind dust-laden from the Arabian Peninsula, and from the other side, northwest winds loaded with dust from Iran and Pakistan.”

An official confirmed that: “The intensity of the dust will increase during Friday, and the chances of rain will be weak. In the next two days, chances of rain will be greater on the coastal regions of the northern governorates, including the Governorate of Muscat, due to the presence of moisture.”
