Muscat: The State Council Vice-Chairman, Dr Al Sheikh Al Khattab Ghalib Ali Al Hinai, received on Tuesday Sebastian Münzenmaier, AfD-Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) and his delegation, as part of their current visit to the Sultanate.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr Khattab noted the close relations between the Sultanate and Germany and the continued pursuit to develop these relations to activate the common interests.
Enhance cooperation
He expressed the Sultanate’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Germany and expand its scope to include several aspects, especially economic, in light of the Sultanate’s promising investment opportunities.
In addition, he underscored the importance of developing cooperation in the field of tourism because of Oman’s unique tourism potential and indicating in this regard to the high importance attached by the Sultanate to investment in the tourism sector.
The meeting reviewed several topics related to strengthening cooperation between the State Council and Germany.
Tourism potential
For his part, Sebastian Münzenmaier, expressed his happiness and of the accompanying delegations’ to visit the Sultanate and learn about the development renaissance witnessed in all fields and its attractive tourism potential and facilities.
He noted the promising prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries in the tourism field, pointing out that their current visit to the Sultanate comes within this framework.
The meeting was attended by the State Council members Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hassani, Salim bin Najim bin Said Al Ghailani and Liyutha bint Sultan bin Ahmed Al Mughairiyah. The Bundestag guests gained insights into the Councils’ profile through the documentary film based on the development of the Omani shura process and the role of the State Council in national work.
