Muscat: The Public Authority of Consumer Protection (PACP) Department in Al Seeb has recovered more than OMR 38,000 for consumers from several sectors in January, 2020.
In a report published by PACP read: “PACP Department in Al Seeb managed to retrieve OMR 38,800.8 in January, according to the statistical report of the complaints department in the department, as part of the efforts made to resolve complaints received from consumers through friendly settlement.”
“The recovered amounts is from several sectors, starting with Manpower services sector which have restored to the consumers total of OMR 24,931, followed by the furniture stores sector with a total of restored RO 5,247, then aluminum, blacksmith and carpentry workshops sector total of OMR 1,950, electronic devices sector around OMR 1,747 and OMR 1,270 in the other services sector.”
“Also in the construction and building materials sector the total recovered amount is 1,200 OMR, in the vehicle repair workshops sector OMR 1175, while OMR 550 was retrieved from tires sector, followed by the travel and tourism services sector OMR 360, spare parts sector OMR 190, while the total recoveries in the salons and beauty sector services with total of OMR 180.”
Saleh Al Wahaibi, Director of the Department, confirmed that the authority’s efforts are continuing to preserve the rights of the consumers in all ways, calling on suppliers to adhere to consumer protection laws and legislations.
