Workshop to focus on local tradition to boost tourism in Oman

Muscat: To promote the local culture and lifestyle among the tourists visiting Oman, the Ministry of Tourism will hold an interactive workshop on “Heritage Accommodation” initiative on May 9, 2016, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nizwa.
For this, the Ministry of Tourism has called on the owners of traditional homes as well as different small and medium Enterprises (SMEs) to join the session and explore the possibilities of collaboration to preserve and develop these properties while supporting the local economy.
The traditional accommodations will showcase the richness of Omani architecture and culture as it will allow the guests to live the traditional Omani way of life and explore the traditions, handicrafts, food and customs of the Sultanate.
The Ministry of Tourism is working closely with nine other government entities to organise this session that aims to attract more investment by locals in the traditional accommodation sector.
