Message of solidarity from United Nations

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur was offered condolences on the death of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur by UN Secretary-General and received separate phone calls from the presidents of the United States and Turkey.
In New York, Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Al Hassan, Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations, received at the Omani mission, Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, who offered his condolences on the death of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
Guterres delivered a message of “condolences and solidarity” in which he said, “It is an enormous loss for the people of Oman. It is an enormous loss for the world. His Majesty was a symbol of wisdom.”
“And he was also a towering figure in bringing peace and dialogue to the region. He has contributed more than anyone else for peace to be respected by all. He was someone that caused a very strong impression in all those who have known him. I strongly hope Oman will go on taking advantage of this period in which peace and prosperity were guaranteed through his leadership... that the Sultanate will go on with all the conditions for the people to enjoy all the benefits that His Majesty has been able to ensure during his reign.”
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur received a phone call from President Donald Trump of the United States of America.
During the phone call, President Trump expressed his sorrow, deep regret and sincere condolences for the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur, asserting that the United States stands by the Sultanate in its great loss.
President Trump also expressed his best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan for the continuation of the blessed march of His Majesty the late Sultan in leading the Omani people to further progress, advancement and prosperity and further development and growth to the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the American President for his kind feelings, sincere sympathy and good wishes. He wished him good health and happiness, and the friendly American people, all progress and development, and steady development and growth to the strong relations between the two countries and their friendly people.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur received a phone call from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, during which he expressed his condolences on the death of HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
