Muscat: Sheikh Nasser bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of the State’s Financial and Administrative Audit Institution (SFAAI), on Sunday submitted SFAAI annual report to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The report outlines the outcome of the SFAAI’s tasks and activities. The SFAAI utilised its full capabilities to achieve the objectives set for it.
The SFAAI also sent copies of the report to the Council of Ministers, the State Council and the Majlis Al Shura in implementation of Article (29) of the State’s Financial and Administrative Audit Law, promulgated under Royal Decree No. 111/2011, which stipulates that the SFAAI shall issue an annual report of its tasks and submit it directly to His Majesty the Sultan, besides sending copies of the same to the Council of Ministers, the Majlis and the State Council before the end of the subsequent year.
Auditing
The annual report covered a number of observations and findings of the SFAAI as part of its enforcement of auditing procedures in units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus, public companies and public authorities that come under the monitoring authority of the SFAAI whose units are widespread in the Sultanate’s governorates.
As many as 186 public bodies were inspected by the SFAAI through 2018.
The SFAAI’s tasks included a variety of observed phenomena, findings and audit reports which were grouped in main sections and sub-sections of the annual report.
