Over 100 kg of inedible food destroyed in Oman

Muscat: An inspection campaign by the Directorate General of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in Ash Sharqiyah North Governorate was carried out at stores selling meat, fish, and poultry.

“Food Safety and Quality department implemented an inspection campaign to cover 37 stores selling meat, fish, and poultry. They filed seven health violations and three warnings, while 110 kilograms of non-edible meat and fish were destroyed and one store was closed,” the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources announced.

The Ministry added that this inspection came with the aim to apply the highest standards of quality and food safety in various food facilities.
