Muscat: Citizens and residents who are looking forward to enjoying the fireworks on New Year’s Eve can head to Dubai as they have arranged some of the best spots for free.
According to the visitdubai.com, the site that is maintained by Dubai Corporation of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, have predicted the best places to be at as the clock strikes 12.
Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain
You can head there and enjoy as thousands gather along the waterfront of the Dubai Fountain to catch the spectacular light and water show at midnight, so make sure to get a headstart. Arrive as early as 6pm to avoid traffic and grab a top spot. Or, book a table at one of the famous restaurants lining the waterfront by The Dubai Mall to guarantee yourself a good seat.
Souk Al Bahar
Just across the bridge from The Dubai Mall is Souk Al Bahar, an upscale dining and lifestyle destination. Many restaurants here boast clear views of the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain. Again, book ahead so you don’t have to rush to find a seat with the whole family. Although it is free access but advanced booking required at restaurants.
Burj Plaza
In the shadow of the Burj Khalifa is Burj Plaza, an open-air promenade. Along with a range of dining destinations where you can book a table, this is the best place to be for an alternative and uninterrupted view of the Downtown fireworks.
Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk
Stretching all the way from the One&Only, The Palm to the other end, the walkway offers numerous spots for visitors to watch the fireworks display at Atlantis. If you head to the Rixos-end of the crescent, you’ll be able to spy the Burj Khalifa celebrations too. Bear in mind that access to the Palm is typically restricted to control traffic on NYE, so plan and arrive accordingly.
The Pointe
Located across the bay from Atlantis, The Palm, this entertainment and retail destination at the tip of Palm Jumeirah has more than 80 shops, restaurants and attractions to explore while you wait for the big event. Free entry to The Pointe, however, advance booking required at restaurants.
