It has also carried out the electrical work and improved the lighting at the fort. The fort opened its doors to visitors after the reconstruction and development work was completed. The tourists can now visit such a historical landmark distinguished by its unique architectural elements. The visitors also enjoyed watching the thrilling landscape of the Wilayat where the sea is in harmony with the land.

“This castle was built on a hill overlooking As Sunaysilah Village in A’Sharqiyah South Governorate,” said Oman’s Ministry of Tourism. “The fort is 35 metres long and 30 metres wide. It includes four circular towers, three of which have cannons, and the fourth was used for surveillance. Al Sunaysilah Fort has a gate overlooking walls that stretch for 55 metres and lead to a roofed and open courtyard. This castle was used to defend the village.”
