Expat jailed, fined for selling banned chewing tobacco

An expat has been sentenced to one month in jail and fined OMR 2,000 for selling chewing tobacco and cigarettes in Ibra in North Al Sharqiya.
This was revealed by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection.
“We found 6,000 packs of Red Royal cigarettes, 150 bags of chewing tobacco and 250 bags of Pan Bahar and in addition to that 12 tablets of Tshana in his possession. On questioning, the suspect admitted that it belongs to him.” - Public Authority for Consumer Protection
The Court of First Instance in Damma Wal’Tain issued the ruling against the expat who will be deported after the completion of his sentence.
