Muscat: The 'Pakistan Citizen Portal' was ranked as the second best government mobile service in the world as part of a global competition, the country's Prime Minister Imran Khan announced.
Khan took to Twitter to hail the accomplishment of the app, saying, "Creating a direct link with the people to provide for resolution of their problems has led to the incredible success of my complaint cell in the PM Office."
Pakistan Citizen Portal was one of 4,646 mobile applications from 87 countries that was presented at the competition, which was held as part of the World Government Summit in Dubai.
According to Khan, the app was designed and developed free of cost by a team from the Pakistani province of Khyber Pukhtunkwa. Its development took just 45 days and it was launched on 28 October 2018. Since then, it has resolved 250,000 complaints out of 420,000. The app was second only to a submission from Indonesia and was one place ahead of the U.S., Khan said.
