Muscat: His Excellency Sheikh Khalid Al Ma'awali, Chairman of the Shura Council, announced on Tuesday morning the commencement of the regular session 2 for the first annual session 2019-2020 of the ninth period after the completion of the quorum for the session. A statement was issued by the Shura Council online on Tuesday announcing the same.

He pointed out in his speech that the session is devoted to discussing the Shura Economic Report on the state budget for 2020.

The Shura Council statement said, “His Excellency Sheikh Ahmad Al Nadabi read the request of the Council of Ministers to discuss the general budget of the state for the fiscal year 2020, in a private session, for a vote by the members of the Council, according to Article (58) bis (31) of the Basic Law of the State, and Article (90) of the Bylaws of the Shura Council.”

The members of the Shura Council then voted on whether to keep the regular session 2 confidential or to make it public.
