Muscat: Royal Oman Police has closed roads in Liwa-Shinas due to the overflowing of Bani Khuzaiymah wadi.
In a statement issued online, ROP said: “Currently, traffic has stopped in Liwa - Shinas due to the flow of Bani Khuzaiymah wadi with the retention of a truck of a locomotive and trailer type, please pay attention.'' ROP also said, traffic stopped in Saham - Al Khaboura road due to the flow of Khor Al Melh wadi.
“Medium to moderate rainfall in the wilayats of North Al Batinah governorate, road users in North Al Batinah are advised to exercise caution and follow safety measures while driving.'' the ROP noted.
ROP has called on citizens and residents to be vigilant due to heavy thoundershower which is likely to continue in Northern governorates of the Sultanate during the coming hours. “It will be accompanied by winds and falling of hail, flash floods and descent valleys with low horizontal visibility and high waves on the Sea of Oman,” ROP added
The ROP said: '' The danger signs tell you to slow down and be more careful. Pay attention to the nature of road and drive slowly and collaboration with Royal Oman Police and following safety guidelines during rains protect you from dangers.''
