Muscat: Oman celebrated World Children's Day and the thirtieth anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The UNICEF said in a statement, "Today we celebrate World Children's Day and this year is special with celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the CRC. We kicked off the day by going blue at Al Mahamid School and speaking to children about their rights."
On this occasion, Oman Airports received a number of children to experience the work culture at the airport.
In addition, Minister of Health and Minister of Information received in their offices a number of school students under the supervision of the UNICEF.
During the meetings, the children expressed their thoughts, questions, and challenges they face and the two ministers responded to the students' questions. The children also met the CEO of Duqm Port and the children then held a press conference to highlight what was discussed during the meetings, inviting world leaders and decision-makers to renew their commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and create a better future for future's generation.
The meeting with the Minister of Health highlighted the most important issues that interest the community in general and the children in particular, as well as the important health services provided for children. The Minister touched upon the most significant achievements over the past years and its future plans.
