Oman's share index closes marginally higher

Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 4,066.11, up by 0.32 per cent. The Sharia Index closed up by 0.63 per cent at 552.64 points. Raysut Cement, up 6.84 per cent, was the top gainer. Dhofar Cattle Feed, down 4.44 per cent, was the top loser. Oman United Insurance Tiles was the most active in terms of a number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 706 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.71 million with more than 11.808 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 11 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR334,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR197,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR137,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,496.86 points, down 0.15 per cent. Taageer Finance, National Bank of Oman, Oman & Emirates Holding and Gulf Investment were up by 1.89 per cent, 1.62 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 1.30 per cent respectively. Ominvest, Al Sharqia Investment, Bank Nizwa and Bank Muscat were down by 1.76 per cent, 1.1 per cent, 1.06 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,515.66 points, up 1.49 per cent. Raysut Cement, Oman Cement, Al Maha Ceramics and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 6.84 per cent, 3.93 per cent, 2.65 per cent and 2.22 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Gulf Investment and Galfar Engineering were down by 4.44 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 1.27 per cent respectively.
Services index closed up 0.05 per cent at 1,944.19 points. Ooredoo, Omantel and Renaissance were up by 1.48 per cent, 1.3 per cent and 0.73 per cent respectively. OIFC, Al Maha Petroleum, Al Batinah Power and National Gas were down by 1.65 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.39 per cent and 1.33 per cent respectively.
