Muscat: To follow up on the health situation in the South Sharqiyah Governorate, Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Hosani, the Ministry of Health’s undersecretary of Health Affairs, visited the Asila Health Centre, where cases of Hepatitis A were recently reported.
Al Hosani was briefed on the delivered health care services and the procedures adopted for the management of these cases. He confirmed the effectiveness of these procedures and said the incidence of such cases is declining.
Al Hosani further stressed on the necessity of hand, food, and drinks hygiene as effective preventive actions.
In view of reports of an outbreak of the Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF), Al Hosani visited both the Sur and Ibra Hospitals to check on the quality of the medical care being delivered for the management of CCHF cases.
He reaffirmed that overall the number of the cases has reached six since the onset of 2016, and praised the efforts made by the concerned departments of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in dealing with the outbreak.
