Oman-based Indian businessman offers help to Kerala rape victim's relatives

Muscat: An Oman-based Indian businessman has offered 2,200 sq feet of land and OMR1,800 to build a house for the relatives of Jisha, an LLB student in the south Indian state of Kerala who was brutally tortured and sexually assaulted before being murdered last Thursday.“We are totally devastated by hearing Jisha’s tragic death. We have learnt that they didn’t have a proper shelter. They need support. We are doing our best we can,” Dr. K. T. Rabiullah, chairman of Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, said.
Shifa Al Jazeera, a well-established hospital chain the Gulf region, is set to open its first premium polyclinic in Al Khuwair on June 24 and a hospital in Ruwi in October. Further, a new premium hospital with 200 beds is also planned in Al Khoud, which will open its doors for patients in 2017.

Jisha was found murdered on April 28 at her home in Ernakulam by her mother who works as a casual labourer.
The savagery and barbarity with which the woman was assaulted reminds one of `Nirbhaya`, the victim of 2012 Delhi gang-rape.
‘Nirbhaya’ became the pseudonym given to the gang-rape victim whose death in 2012 brought worldwide attention to violence against women.
Post-mortem report suggests that Jisha was beaten savagely by the accused using a sharp weapon that pulled out her intestines.
The report reveals that there were over 30 injury marks on her body, two sides of her chest were found to be pierced to almost two inches deep and an injury on her head is, however, cited as the main reason of her death.
