Muscat: Another scintillating all-round show by Abdul Naveed powered PDO to a massive 9-wicket win over OCT Al Seeb in a B Division clash at Muscat Municipality ground 1 in Amerat on Friday.
PDO dismissed OCT Seeb for 110, Naveed leading the way with 3 for 14 and Tariq Naseer taking 2 for 26. Abbas Al Balushi topscored with 45.PDO raced to the target in less than 10 overs, scoring 112 for 2. Naveed excelled with the bat too, hitting a match-winning 67 off only 38 balls.

LC Tech beats spirited Al Mardhuf in thriller
In another B Division clash, LC Tech overcame a spirited GB Al Mardhuf despite superb all-round performance by Muhammed Nadeem Ashaq at Muscat Municipality ground 2. Ashaq topscored with a solid 76 as Al Mardhuf posted a sizeable 215 for 7 in 30 overs. Feroz Oliyath (50) and Shantilan Shivji (41) were the other notable scorers.
Ashaq ran through LC Tech’s batting with figures of 4 for 48 to leave it in deep trouble at 75 for 6. Tech boys however staged a remarkable recovery with an 81-run 7th wicket partnership between Mifas Mohammed (39) and captain Jayaprakash Devaraju (31). Another 56-run 9th wicket unbroken partnership between Abdul Rauf (31 not out) and Rahul Ramachandran 26 not out) saw them home in the 29th over, winning the game by 2 wickets. Apart from Ashaq, Shantilan Shivji bowled well too, taking 3 for 32.
