ROP to temporarily halt issuance, renewal of the ID cards

The issuance and renewal of identity cards will be temporarily halted on Sunday, 27 October.
It is done as it coincides with the Shura Council elections, the Royal Oman Police said.
"The Royal Oman Police announces to all citizens that the issuance or renewal of identity cards will be temporarily suspended on Sunday 27 October 2019 to coincide with the date of voting for the Ninth Shura Council elections.” – Royal Oman Police
However, ROP will issue resident cards for expats and birth and death certificates to Omanis and expatriates on October 27.
