Oman's police foil bid to smuggle 2,700 bundles of khat

Muscat: A total of 2,700 bundles of khat have been seized in the Governorate of Dhofar, Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.

The attempt to smuggle khat took place in the Wilayat of Taqah, officials revealed.

In a statement online, ROP said, “The Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at Dhofar Governorate Police, in cooperation with Taqah police managed to foil an attempt to smuggle khat in the Wilayat of Taqah.”

ROP added, “2,700 bundles of khat were confiscated.”
