Muscat: Omani citizens can obtain a single-entry visa for 30 days under the visa-on-arrival facility at all international airports of Azerbaijan, according to a statement uploaded on the country’s official website.
“The move will increase people-to-people contacts, promote tourist visits and business ties with regards to the tasks given by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the statement added.
Advanced visa requirements for citizens of countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have also been lifted.
There are no direct flights to Azerbaijan from Muscat, however, flydubai, Emirates and Qatar Airways operates connection flights.
The average flying time from Muscat to Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, is and five and half hours, with one plus stops. Atlantis Holidays, the official representative office of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture of Tourism in the Gulf region, is offering special packages to encourage more Gulf nationals to visit.
Last September, Khalaf Khalafov, the deputy foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, had visited Oman to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the oil and agriculture sectors and for tourism.
