Mwasalat introduces new transport system

Muscat: Mwasalat, Oman’s national transport company, has introduced the first phase of the Intelligent Transport system (ITS).

In a statement, Mwasalat said: “The first phase of the Intelligent Transport system (ITS) has been rolled out and the staff is being trained on the use of the system.”

ITS is an advanced application which aims to provide innovative services relating to different modes of transportand traffic management and enable users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated, and 'smarter' use of transport network.

Some of these technologies include calling for emergency services when an accident occurs, using cameras to enforce traffic laws or signs that mark speed limit changes depending on conditions.
