Oman’s MoH rubbishes false claims circulated on social media

Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Health has rubbished 'false and shameful allegations’ regarding medical staff that is being circulated on social media.

The allegations pertain to images of two nurses during their visits to homes that are being spread accompanied with false information.

According to Ministry, legal action will be taken against the accused, who is responsible for disseminating this information.

The Ministry explained that the nurses were performing their duties within the national nutrition survey in North Sharqiyah in 2017.

In an online statement, the Ministry said: “The Ministry followed up with what is being circulated on social media with regards to the images of two nurses visiting homes which was accompanied with false and immoral allegations. The nurses were performing their duties within the purview of the national nutrition survey in North Sharqiyah in 2017.”

“The Ministry confirmed that the information being spread is false and malicious, and the Ministry will take all necessary legal measures in this regard,” the statement added.

The Ministry called on citizens not to pay attention to the rumours and only believe information from reliable sources disseminated through official sources.
