Oman ranks third in Gulf in higher education enrollment

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman ranks third among Gulf countries in the rate of enrollment in Higher Education Institutions in a study involving the total eligible population carried out between 2012 and 2017.

The Sultanate of Oman has achieved 45 per cent of enrollment in higher education out of the total eligible population between these years.

A statement by the Ministry of Higher Education said, “According to the GCC Development Indicators book 2019, Saudi Arabia ranked first with 67 per cent of people enrolled in a higher education institution from the total population, followed by Bahrain at 47 per cent and Oman 45 percent."

"The United Arab Emirates came in fourth place with 37 per cent, Kuwait 33 per cent, and Qatar at 15 per cent."
