Coffee is not just about aroma, it strengthens bond

Muscat: Local and foreign coffee lovers in Oman have said that they cannot imagine starting their day without a steaming cup of their favourite beverage.
Others have said that coffee is more than just a drink – it brings people together and helps them create and strengthen bonds with each other. On the occasion of International Coffee Day, people in the country shared with Times of Oman why they loved the drink so much. Filipino national Alma Espinosa said, “Coffee is life for me, I can’t let a day pass without having coffee,” and Ahmed Al Shukaili added, “I prefer black or Turkish coffee with no sugar.”
While many make do with a couple of cups a day, Danica Garrido Lucena said she liked “having six cups of coffee a day. It completes my whole day,” and Mark Robles added, “Coffee is the best partner to start my day,” with Sumini Sarah Thomas saying, “I’m an absolute, absolute coffee lover, whether it is a mocha, latte, cappuccino or kahwa. Anything gets better with coffee. I can’t live without it, and a whole lot can happen over coffee.”

Joel Cruz Palad said, “Caffeinating before starting my day completes my entire day,” Jolly John added, “I love Bru coffee and Nescafe,” and Salma Noor said, “For me, coffee is life. When I feel sad or annoyed, I make Turkish coffee for myself with sweets. After that, I feel great, and my mood changes. I’m a Filipino who loves Turkish coffee and kahwa.”
Alka Jino said, “Coffee is a tradition and culture.”
“It brings people of different nationalities together. Each person has a different way of drinking coffee. But the bliss of breathing freshly brewed coffee wakes up all our senses, as we eagerly wait for that one sip,” he added.
Surbhi Bohra Parakh added, “A cup of mocha, latte or Nescafe in the morning is my everyday dose of getting alert and a powerhouse charger which gives me energy to work all day long,”. Safa Shadab Khan added, “I like cappuccino,” with Geoffrey Collado Ines saying, “I start my day with a piping hot coffee and punctuate it with a mugful of coffee with cream. The strong aroma of coffee energizes me.”
Lovely Princess Soundarrajan said, “A pinch of cream, along with coffee beans can make me very happy. For me personally, coffee is not just a beverage it’s an unexplained emotion. It is a companion on life’s journey who can turn my sorrow into joy with just a sip from the cup,” while Cecilia Valdez Caranguian said,
“I like black coffee with a little sugar in it.”
