Cyclone Hikaa: All authorities ready to offer support services

Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA )has sent additional forces to support the Authority's centres across the Sultanate's governorates which are expected to be directly affected by Cyclone Hikaa.

In an online statement, PACDA said, "Additional forces are moving to support the Commission's centres across the Sultanate's governorates which will be impacted directly by Cyclone Hikaa."

The Ministry of Defense also announced the activation of military subcommittees for emergency management of the Sultan's Armed Forces in the governorate’s of North and South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta, where they will transport supplies and carry out search-and-rescue operations, as well as conducting ground, sea and air reconnaissance operations in areas expected to be affected by the cyclone."

Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources Says: "As part of the Ministry's preparations for the tropical situation (Hikaa), a field response task force in Al Wusta and South Al Sharqiyah is ready, and they are equipped by equipment to open roads, water suction pumps and water transport tanks."

In addition to this, the Ministry is opening an emergency centre for the municipalities and water resources sectors.
