Muscat: A young boy has accidentally shot his sister with a gun in Wiyalat Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, resulting in her death.
The girl was described as "near five years old," according to an official at the local hospital which pronounced her dead.
An official from the local police station told Times of Oman: "Yes, there was a death due to a shooting here. It is a tragedy that occured among local children.
"This happened at 10:30 AM on Thursday. We are still investigating the incident."
An official from the local hospital told Times of Oman that the incident had occurred between siblings.
"A young girl at around 4-5 years old was accidentally shot by her younger brother with a gun," he said.
