More than 18,000 complaints filed with Muscat Municipality

Muscat: In 2018, more than 18,000 complaints were lodged with Muscat Municipality under various categories, the agency revealed.

Complaints varied between the presence of insects to leaks in sewage lines and non-functional traffic signals.

The top five most common complaints included 3,638 complaints for road lighting not working, 1,173 complaints of sewage leak, 1,887 complaints of appearance of rats in the house, 1,855 complaints of cockroaches at homes and 720 calls to remove vehicles involved in accidents.

The rest included street waste, the presence of mosquitoes, rodents and other types of insects at homes. 626 people lodged complaints about traffic lights not working and 516 reports were filed for expired foodstuff and unsafe food items.
