Viral video of car theft in Oman leads to several arrests

Muscat: A number of people have been arrested after they were filmed stealing a vehicle, causing panic among children. A video of the incident went viral on social media, leading to the arrests, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said.

In an online statement, the ROP said, “Referring to the video circulated on social media, including a scene of theft of a vehicle, kidnapping and panicking of children by masked persons, the Anti-Crime Department had begun a search and arrested those who were involved."

"Legal proceedings against them are underway.”
