Missing Omani student did not leave Australia

Oman's Consul General in Australia has confirmed that the missing Omani student is within Australian territory and did not leave the country.

On Sunday, the Consulate of Oman in Australia announced that 28-year-old Aisha Bint Salem Al Ghaithi, a student at the University of Queensland, was reported missing by the University after she failed to return to classes following a midterm break.

"Dr. Hamoud bin Amer Al-Wardi, Consul General of the Sultanate for Australia said that the Omani student is still being sought in coordination with Australian police and relevant authorities. We received confirmation from the Immigration Service that the student did not leave Australia.” - Ministry of Higher Education
