An earthquake, measuring 4.60 on the Richter scale, was recorded in the Arabian Gulf.
It was recorded just 120 kilometres from Khasab by the Sultan Qaboos University Earthquake Monitoring Centre.
The quake occurred at 2:59 am on Tuesday morning.
A report by the centre said that the earthquake occurred in the gulf at a depth of 10 kilometres.
