Oman receives 148 mm rainfall over last few days

Muscat: Oman recorded rainfall of 148 mm over the past few days, according to the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources.

From Thursday, 18 July until Saturday, 20 July, several governorates in Oman have witnessed both heavy and light rainfall.

A statement by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources said: "The rainfall monitoring stations that belong to the Ministry have recorded the highest amount of rainfall in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with 28 mm in Wilayat Bahla."

Al Dakhiliyah Governorate came in second having received 25 mm rainfall in Wilayat Nizwa.

The statement added: "In Al Dhahirah governorate, it reached 23 mm in Wilayat Ibri, while in Al Buraimi governorate it reached 20 mm in Wilayat Mahdah."

North Al Sharqiyah Governorate and Al Batinah North Governorate received the least amount of rainfall.

"In Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, it reached 16 mm in Wilayat Al Mudhaibi, and in Al Batinah North Governorate, it reached 1 mm in the Wilayat Sohar." the statement added.

The Ministry’s statement also revealed that a number of wadis overflowed in several wilayats; such as, Bahla, Nizwa, Mahdah, Ibri, Dhank, Ibra, and Al Mudhaibi.
