Mwasalat, beáh partner on environment awareness

Muscat: A new partnership between beáh and Mwasalat will work to protect Oman’s environment and raise awareness about how to treat the environment.

According to a joint statement by the two companies, a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed that aims “to conserve the Omani environment for future generations.”

“The initiative aims at tackling environmental damage caused by public littering and highlighting best practices for waste disposal in touristic sites.

"beáh will also initiate the ‘Oman Testahel’ volunteer group to support initiative’s target, working hand in hand with community and offering volunteering opportunities to ensure that social inclusiveness and sustainability goals are met."

“On the basis of this MoU, Mwasalat will be transporting participants in ‘Oman Testahel’ [an intiative started by beáh in 2010] to different destinations where initiative’s events are held as an effort towards reducing emissions by using public transportation,” the statement added.

The collaboration is considered a step forward towards achieving instititutional integration between the two companies to ensure that government’s sustainable development plans are achieved by 2030.

According to the statement, “The Sultanate is currently working tiredlessly to aaccomplish Sustainable Development Goals; 17 goals adopted by the UN to encourage eco-friendly production methods and reduce waste by 2030.”
