Muscat: Oman Air will be flying to Mashhad in Iran soon, the airline tweeted in its official twitter handle.
“Oman Air will be adding another destination in Iran, happy to be flying to Mashhad soon,” the airline’s tweet read.
Recently, Oman Air had added a second daily flight to Tehran.
Iran is making a fresh pitch for tourists, with the recent lifting of economic sanctions providing an opportunity to cash in.
In January this year, Abdolhossein Khedri, chairman of Khedri Jahan Darya Company, said that an Islamic tourist cruise connecting Iran, Muscat, Salalah and Mumbai is initiative is being studied with the support of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organisation.
