US Embassy to organise TechCamp for students

Muscat: The prestigious and innovation-driven TechCamp initiative will be held for the first time in Oman in March, its organisers announced.
Launched with the aim of providing an opportunity for students and jobseekers to learn essential technology-driven skills, the event will be hosted by the US Embassy in Muscat on March 1 and 2, 2019, under the theme, “Innovative Strategies for Future Entrepreneurs”.
The US Ambassador to Oman, Marc J. Sievers, said, “The US Embassy in Muscat is proud to bring TechCamp to Oman as a way to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with technology experts from around the globe.”
“TechCamp Oman aims to build the attendees’ digital capacity to turn their ideas into reality. The US State Department has implemented the successful TechCamp model in more than 60 locations worldwide since the programme’s inception in 2010. We look forward to seeing the results of the two-day hands-on interactive experience here in Muscat,” he added.
The two-day event will offer participants an opportunity to train under world-class technology experts, allowing them to learn the critical thinking, tech savvy, and innovative skills needed to thrive in the private sector.
