New Delhi: India's Chandrayaan-2 mission to the Moon was postponed around an hour before it was scheduled to launch Monday morning.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said the launch was delayed due to a "technical snag."
In a tweet, the agency said, "A technical snag was observed in launch vehicle system at 1 hour before the launch. As a measure of abundant precaution, #Chandrayaan2 launch has been called off for today. Revised launch date will be announced later."
The mission is India's first attempt to land on the surface of the moon. To date, only three nations, the US, the Soviet Union, and China, have achieved the feat.
It follows Chandrayan-1, India's first lunar probe, which was launched in 2008.
