Mumbai: At least three people were killed and a few others were injured on Saturday after a massive fire broke out inside a rubber factory in Indian capital New Delhi, police said.
The fire broke out at a factory in Shahdara's Jhilmil industrial area, located in the northeastern part of the city.
"Two women and a man were killed in the fire," a police official told Chinese state-run media.
According to officials cited by Chinese state media, the fire broke out at around 9:00 a.m. local time at the factory manufacturing plastic and rubber sanitary items.
Authorities rushed around two dozen fire tenders to the spot to contain the blaze.
"We received the information about the fire at around 9:25 a.m. (local time)," a fire department official said. "The firefighting operation is underway in the building consisting of a ground floor and three upper floors."
