Muscat: A preparatory meeting was held by the Ministry of Tourism with different government bodies on Sunday as a precursor for the upcoming workshop on heritage accommodation, to be held in the second week of May in Nizwa.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, the Royal Oman Police, Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance, Public Authority for SME Development (Riyada) and the Oman Chamber of Commerce.
Held at the Cultural Centre in Nizwa, the introductory meeting discussed the main goals behind the heritage accommodation initiative to understand the requirements of each body for the purpose of licensing. The meeting was also aimed to clarify any doubts that the parties may have about easing the application process.
This meeting was also meant as a step towards preparing for the main workshop on Heritage Accommodation that will take place on May 9 at Nizwa. The workshop will highlight various kinds of unique accommodation that are available in Oman.
