Omani authorities shut down illegal street vendors

Muscat: Muscat Municipality raided a number of public sites exploited by street vendors to display the goods without a permit.

The Urban Inspection Service and the Department of Health Affairs at the Muscat Municipality General Directorate at Seeb, in cooperation with Royal Oman Police, carried out a joint action to raid some public sites in wilayat, which were exploited by street vendors to display various goods and materials."

The municipality added, "This behavior represents a violation of municipal regulations and health requirements."
