Cricket: Sinha register stunning win against Enhance Eagles

MUSCAT: Magnificent all-round show by Dileepa Srilal powered Sinha to a stunning 46-run win over A Division’s unbeaten leaders MDC Enhance Eagles at Oman Cricket Turf 2 in Amerat on Saturday.
Opting to bat first, Sinha posted a robust 259 for 8 in 50 overs, opener Dileepa leading the way with a solid 89 off 127. Fellow opener Chaminda Lakmal (57 off 85) and one drop Nalaka Pathum (51 off 54) batted superbly too as Sinha raced to 227 for 3 in the 46th over, adding another 32 off the last 27 balls. Mohammed Mohsin and Allan Gawdya claimed four and three wickets respectively.
A Division’s high-flying Eagles found its wings clipped as six of its batsmen failed to score in double figures, getting bowled out for 213 in the 42nd over. Rehman Ali (40), Adeel Abbas (34) and Ikhtiar Kazmi (32) were the only Enhance batsmen who batted well. Dileepa bowled exceptionally well, taking 6 for 39 while Ravindu Veeramuni took two wickets.

Dileepa Srilal 6-39, Ravindu Veeramuni 2-40) by 46 runs.
Renaissance beat PSD
Outstanding performances by opener Rishabh Verma (109) and all-rounder Faizal Jerome Mohammed (47 runs and 6 for 27) helped Renaissance to a massive 196-run victory against Platinum Services Diamond (PSD) in an A Division clash at OC Turf 1 in Amerat on Saturday.
Renaissance piled up a big total, scoring 300 for 9 in 50 overs thanks to brilliant century from Verma and vital contributions from Faizal and Dushan Praveena (40) and Amandeep Singh (37). Ahammad Karim and Imran Rijvi were PSD’s main bowlers, picking up three and two wickets respectively.
Struggling at 57 for 4 in the 10th over, PSD slumped into deeper trouble seven overs later when it had lost its 8 wickets for only 77 runs before being dismissed for 104 in the 24th over. Faizal bowled an outstanding spell, taking six wickets for 27 runs in 7.3 overs.
Brief scores: Renaissance 300 for 9 in 50 overs (Rishabh Verma 109 – 16x4, Faizal Jerome 47 – 6x4, 1x6, Dushan Praveena 40 – 1x4, 2x6, Amandeep Singh 37 – 7x4. Ahammad Karim 3-52, Imran Rijvi 2-50) thrashed PSD 104 all out in 23.3 overs (Imran Rijvi 16 – 3x4. Faizal Jerome 6-27) by 196 runs.
Design Group win
Design Group Engineering Consultants scored an exciting 3-wicket victory against OCT Al Hail B in an F Division game at Muscat Municipality ground 4 on Friday.
OCT Al Hail was restricted to 143 for 7 thanks to superb bowling by Farooq Kamran and Amir Mohammad who bagged three and two wickets respectively. Anaya Allah and Adil Al Balushi topscored with 27 each.
Design Group raced to the target in only 16.5 overs, scoring 146 for 7. Nadeem (38) and Rehman Shani (23) were its notable scorers. Samir Faizu and Anaya Allah took two wickets each.

Samir Faizu 2-20, Anaya Allah 2-27) by 3 wickets.
Rana stars for Majees
In another F Division match, Rana Shahidullah was the shining star of Majees CT’s thumping 8-wicket win against OCT Al Nahdha at the same venue.
Rana picked up three wickets as OCT Al nahdha was dismissed for 99 in the 19th over. Majees chased down the small target in only the 8th over, scoring 105 for 4 with Rana topscoring with a whirlwind 30 off 15 balls.
