Oman foreign ministry dismisses rumours of formal ties with Israel

Muscat: The Sultanate denies all rumours about the establishment of diplomatic ties with Israel, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said.

The Ministry stressed that the Sultanate is making efforts to create diplomatic conditions so that there can be peace between Israel and Palestine.

A statement by the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "What was reported across some media and social media about the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Sultanate and the State of Israel is entirely unfounded."

"The Sultanate is keen to exert all efforts to create favourable diplomatic conditions to restore contacts between all international and regional parties to work towards achieving peace between the Palestinian National Authority and the Government of the State of Israel, leading to the establishment of an independent State of Palestine," the Ministry's statement added.
