New Delhi: Indian Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra’s maiden speech in the Lok Sabha has gone viral on social media.

The 44-year-old first time MP from Kishangarh representing the Trinamool Congress made her forceful debut while discussing the motion of thanks of the President’s address in India’s lower house, the Lok Sabha.

The former vice-president of JP Morgan spent a large part of her life the United States before returning to India. In 2008, she joined the Indian National Congress but later switched parties to TMC after she met West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee on a flight.

Moitra also made the Indian Government withdraw its proposal to introduce a surveillance plan for citizens through a social media hub with her petition in the Supreme Court, and made the UIDAI (Aadhar governing body) clarify that the government agency won’t look into citizens’ private conversations.
