Air India plane diverted to Stansted Airport after bomb threat

Muscat: An Air India flight from Mumbai-Newark made a precautionary landing at London Stansted Airport due to a bomb threat.

London Stansted Airport confirmed the Air India Boeing 777 had been diverted about 10.15am and landed safely with Essex Police in attendance.

“It is parked on an isolated stand away from the normal airport operations. Our runway has now re-opened and is fully operation. We are sorry or any delays and disruption caused by the incident, but our first priority is always the safety of passengers and staffs,” the airport said via it official Twitter handle.
