Muscat: Temperatures across desert areas are set to rise in the coming days and could even reach up to 50 degrees celsius in some places.
In a statement, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said that temperatures in western areas of the Sultanate will continue to rise, and warned people to take caution and avoid direct sunlight.
"Over the next three days, temperatures in the desert areas and areas west of the Hajar Mountains will continue to rise and will range between 46 and 49 degrees. It may reach 50 degrees over parts of desert areas. Please avoid direct sunlight and follow safety instructions," Oman's meteorology authority said.
