.Open Minds Forum: 2016 is year of opportunities, says Oman official

Muscat: 2016 is year of opportunities and “true entrepreneurs” will grow and overcome these tough times, a top official said while opening .Open Minds, a unique thought leadership forum, today.
"There are a lot of opportunities in tourism, health sector, logistics, ICT and even in fashion industry in Oman. Success comes when you realise the potential and adapt to the changes happening, Malak Ahmed Al Shaibani, director general of National Business Centre (NBC), said while opening the forum.

The .Open Minds forum, is held under the auspices of Her Highness Sayyida (Dr) Mona bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice-chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).
The forum is featuring top thought leaders who are set to stimulate the minds of people. The speakers, both international and local, are all set to synergise, motivate and educate (SME), which hinges on the central theme of the forum, that an “open mind will open doors”.
The list of speakers includes Chris Gardner, Princess Beatrice of York, Dutch football legend Ruud Gullit, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, youngest app developer and entrepreneur Jordan Casey, ventriloquist Steve Hewlett and others.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Suwaidan Al Balushi, former telecom minister and Dr Amer Al Rawas, group Ceo, Tasneea Oil and Gas Technology and Col (retd) Abdulwahab Abdulkarim Al Balushi, general manager security and facilitation of Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) and also acting general manager of Muscat International Airport are the three main speakers.
The event is packed with “experience, knowledge, thoughts, positivity, inspiration, attitude, entertainment and presentation”, the organisers said.
The event is being presented by Areej Vegetable Oils and Derivatives (AVOD).
Other event partners are the Ministry of Tourism and Information Technology Authority (ITA)/e-Oman.
Merge and Al Wisal are the radio partners and the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba are the media partners.
