Muscat: The Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council (FAERC) held its third meeting for the year 2019 yetsterday at the Ministry of Finance in Muscat under the chair of Darwish bin Ismail Al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs, Deputy Chairman of FAERC.
The Council reviewed as part of its follow-up of the latest developments in the economic and financial situation, the financial position of the country until 30/4/2019.
It reviewed the most important financial indicators, including the actual position of the oil prices, revenues, level of expenses, actual deficit and indebtedness.
The Council stressed the need to continue to take financial and economic measures aimed at achieving financial sustainability.
The Council discussed the report of the final accounts of the State budget for the fiscal year 2018, and the final accounts were approved.
The meeting also included a presentation on the performance of state-owned enterprises, State Reserve Fund investments and a number of other issues, and appropriate decisions were taken in their regard.
